“Last year, the Tour des Pyrénées was the first race where I really came as a leader for the general classification, and it was a very tough experience. Today, I’m here as the winner. I think I’m the same person as I was a year ago, but with much more experience. I’ve learned how to move better within the peloton, stay calm when it matters, and make better decisions during the race. This year, I arrived with much more confidence in myself and with a very strong team around me,” Blasi said after securing the title.
The Tourmalet won the race
The final stage from Nay to Jurançon was lively, but the overall classification had effectively been decided a day earlier.
On stage 2, Blasi attacked on the Col du Tourmalet and rode away from the field, winning solo and taking a commanding lead of nearly two minutes over teammate Dominika Włodarczyk. It was a performance that left the rest of the race chasing shadows.
That meant Sunday’s task was straightforward: stay safe, stay calm, and defend the jersey.

Jansen crashes, gets up, and still wins
While the general classification remained secure, the stage itself produced one of the most memorable performances of the weekend.
Eline Jansen was part of a large breakaway that escaped during the rolling final stage. At one point, her race looked over after a crash disrupted the decisive move.
Instead, she got back on her bike and carried on attacking.
In the closing kilometres, Jansen broke clear alongside Léa Curinier. The pair held off the peloton and sprinted for victory in Jurançon, where Jansen proved strongest despite her earlier crash.
Behind them, the peloton arrived 49 seconds later, leaving the overall standings unchanged.
Focus on the bigger objective
UAE Team ADQ briefly considered chasing the stage victory, but once the breakaway gained enough time, priorities changed.
“Today we worked perfectly once again. We wanted to try to win the stage with Dominika, but when the breakaway went clear, we stayed focused on our main objective: controlling the race and securing the overall victory. We achieved that, and we’re very happy and satisfied with the result.”
That approach delivered a perfect outcome for the team.
Not only did Blasi win the race overall, but UAE Team ADQ also completed a one-two in the general classification with Włodarczyk finishing second.
