Coolest News from the World of Cycling

By Martin Mrazek

Another Monday is here and our news from the world of cycling with it! So what did you miss in the last couple of days? Read on to find out.

Travis Pastrana Lands the Double Cork 1080

Since doing the world’s first double backflip on a motorbike at the X Games back in 2006, Travis has been proving over and over again that he’s one of the best riders in the world, and his last stunt just confirms that.

“Oh my God, world’s first! World’s first,” screams Travis in excitement after successfully completing the double cork 1080 aka the ausi-roll.

“Woke up this morning tired, sick and beat up. And decided today was going to be the day to land a trick I’ve been working on for 3 years. Dusty had been working on it equally as long and agreed to give it a go too. But not wanting to leave anyone out, we woke up half the Nitro crew and got the venue early today to have a huck-it session. Putting on a show in front of tens of thousands of people is an amazing feeling. But sessions like this morning’s practice with just your friends are what we live for,” wrote Travis as a description of the video he published on his Facebook page.

Another Mechanical Doping Scandal?

Following the Femke van den Driessche incident, the Italian media believe they might have discovered another motorbike in the peloton. The video you can watch below shows the rear wheel of Movistar bike continue to spin even after landing on the ground when the rider definitely isn’t pedalling.
