Winners have become favourites for the World Championships
Lucinda Brand (Baloise Trek Lions) and Eli Iserbyt (Pauwels Sauzen-Bingoal) won the overall series titles in the women‘s and men‘s UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup series. Brand finished second in the final race in Hoogerheide. Only Marianne Vos (Jumbo-Visma) managed to beat her on Sunday. Brand accumulated 432 points over the course of the season. Denise Betsema (Pauwels Sauzen-Bingoal) was second, down by 71 points. Puck Pieterse (Alpecin-Fenix) finished third overall with an 82-point deficit. Lucinda Brand won six rounds and stood on the podium for another six of the 15 races.
Eli Iserbyt sealed the overall title with a stunning victory in Hoogerheide. He won 7 races and finished on the podium in another five. In the end, he accumulated a total of 485 points. Michael Vanthourenhout (Pauwels Sauzen – Bingoal) finished second, trailing 128 points and third placed Toon Aerts (Baloise Trek Lions) was down 137 points.

Brand and Iserbyt are, naturally, among the favourites to win the world titles at the UCI Cyclo-cross Championships held in Fayetteville, Arkansas (January 28-31).
