Five days of intense racing came to a close yesterday with Jesús Herrada of Team Cofidis securing the overall win. The Spaniard won stage 3, gaining the lead and then sealed his triumph by winning both the 4th and 5th stage. Maurits Lammertink (Roompot-Charles) took second place in the overall classification, while Andrea Pasqualon (Wanty-Gobert) claimed third.

The race started on 5 June with a prologue in Luxembourg City. It then took the riders across the country in four stages: Luxembourg City – Hautcharage; Steinfort – Rosport; Mondorf-les-Bains – Diekirch; and Mersch – Luxembourg City. 17 national and international teams arrived, comprising 90 pros.

“What a week! I have no words but have to thank all my colleagues for the great job they have done at the ŠKODA Tour de Luxembourg,” Herrada wrote on Twitter. “Thanks to everyone at Team Cofidis.”
