The first section of St Ninian’s Way starts at Carlisle’s ancient cathedral and proceeds north through the city centre about ½ km to Bridgewater Street. After crossing the River Eden the Way joins Bike Route 7 all the way to Gretna. About 19 km.
Flat farmland and over the estuary of the Esk and Eden with great views onto the Solway Firth.
