The Belgian does it again
Remco Evenepoel has started four stage races in 2020. And he has won four stage races. The 20-year-old Deceuninck – Quick-Step rider shows a brilliant form. He won the queen stage 4 of the Tour of Poland after a brilliant 50-km solo breakaway, leaving Jakob Fuglsang nearly 2 minutes down in the GC. Simon Yates finished third overall, trailing 2 minutes and 28 seconds. As Evenepoel crossed the line, he held up the number 75 in tribute to team-mate Fabio Jakobsen who is in serious condition after a crash near the finish of the first stage.
The Dutchman was forced into a barrier after a dangerous move by Dylan Groenewegen who has been since suspended by the Jumbo-Visma team and is awaiting judgement by the UCI disciplinary committee. Fabio Jakobsen has been kept in hospital and was successfully woken up from an induced coma.
With the #TDP20 general classification in the bag, 20-year-old @EvenepoelRemco now has nine victories to his name in 2020, making him the most successful rider of the year so far: https://t.co/hkS6cUJJf5
