We Love Cycling in Taipei

Besides Interbike in Las Vegas and in Friedrichshafen, Germany, Taipei International Cycle Show belongs among the three biggest cycling exhibitions in the world. This year we saw far more major brands showing up here, and even launching new products. Same as the previous year, we’ve been here to show you some news, not only from Asia. We will guide you through it in a short photo story.

WeLoveCycling’s ambassador Richard Gaspi Gasperotti signed a new contract with the Spanish Mondraker team. The guys are super cool and they revealed new models for the 2017 season to us. Unfortunately, the bikes were hidden behind the walls of their booth with the ‘highly confidential label on them. That meant no photos until later in this season.

‘Yes, we can’ is a motto of the Solu company from Taiwan. Yes, they can build the oddest frame we saw. Luckily, they also produce pretty ones.

Xplova developers will launch their brand new navigation system for cycling in the end of March. It will be available as an application for smartphones and also for computers. They look towards cooperation with local developers to spread out to more cities. Look at http://www.xplova.com/en/.

The guys of the UKbased company Weldtide claim to have maintenance for everyone. They sell a wide range of specialist bike lubes, each one specially formulated to ensure the best protection and endurance possible. Titic Huang from the X-fusion company presents a brand new Revel X suspension fork for 2017 season, which has up to 160 mm travel and weighs only 2041 grams.

Mind Bikes are supplied to their customers in boxes. The whole body is assembled and disassembled only with bolts, due to its aluminum extrusion frame having joint structures. This way you can adapt the same bike for kids or adults as easy as the system furniture. The inventors from Osaka say it’s a perfect eco-product reducing environmental burden.

The Taipei Show is not only exhibition of new products but also a display of beautiful flowers. Provided by description labels, you can find them in almost every booth, like this one belonging to Kellys Bikes from Slovakia.

Frenchman Thibaud Alran from Zephyr eBikes lives in Taichung, which is the third biggest city of Taiwan and the heart of the local bicycle industry. Thibaud made us familiar with his new e-enduro bike, which weights less then 20 kilos, including the battery. He also offers one of the smallest cargo e-bikes and much more.
