Downhill Elementary: Everybody Can Ride Better

Since you were taught to ride a bike as a kid, why would you need more lessons?

If you only ride your bike to work or to go shopping, you’re likely to survive without additional tips on how to handle sharp curves or mountain drops. Nevertheless, do not underestimate such information and knowledge. A quick jump over the curb can sometimes help you avoid most dangers that cross your path.

Once you leave the safe world of asphalt, you soon realize that this new knowledge comes in quite handy. When you watch the World Cup riders, they seem like the chosen few who were born with this extraordinary talent. However, they too had to learn somewhere and the right teacher can save you lot of time.

Whether cutting into turn, racing downhill or jumping down stairs, it all can become a fun adventure rather than a nightmare. Before you know it, you will realize that you are much more skilled than your friends are.

These upcoming video lessons will provide you the knowledge to perform such basic skills. We tried to keep it simple for your benefit, but success won’t happen without trying them over and over again. Therefore, wherever possible, we will also show you the basic mistakes a rider can make, in order to limit the time it takes to achieve your goals.

The downhill lessons were shot in the Austrian resort of Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis and the teacher is top free-rider Richard Gasperotti, who took part in the legendary Red Bull Rampage contest four times.
