Jumbo-Visma in the Lead and Other Cool News from the World of Cycling

By Monica Buck

Another Monday is here and our news from the world of cycling with it. So, what did you miss?

Mike Teunissen still in the lead

Jumbo-Visma proved once again just how good they’ve become over the last couple of seasons. It seemed that Team Ineos would win the TTT, but in the end, the Dutch outfit took 20 seconds out of them. That extended Teunissen’s lead to 30 seconds over Thomas and Bernal. However, with the mountainous stages coming up, we can be sure Mike’s reign is over.

Jumbo-Visma’s GC hopeful Steven Kruijswijk now sits 20 seconds ahead of Thomas and Bernal. He finished fourth overall last year. Can he make an impact on the race? What do you think?

General classification after stage two

1. Mike Teunissen (Jumbo-Visma) – 4:51:34
2. Wout van Aert (Jumbo-Visma) + 10s
3. Steven Kruijswijk (Jumbo-Visma)
4. Tony Martin (Jumbo-Visma)
5. George Bennett (Jumbo-Visma)
