Nairo Quintana‘s victory marks a major point in the history of Colombian cycling. The yellow, blue and red Colombian flags were everywhere, creating a remarkable atmosphere as the national colours of Colombia meshed with the Giro d’Italia pink.

1) Giro d’Italia is pink. This color was chosen as the magazine that created the Giro, La Gazzetta dello Sport, printed its newspapers on pink paper.
