Men Arrested For Putting a String Across Bike Path and Other Important News from the World of Cycling

By Monica Buck

Another Monday is here and our news from the world of cycling with it! So, what did you miss?

Woman injured in a nasty accident

On Friday, November 9, police found woven string placed across the I-205 path in Portland, Oregon. Unfortunately, it was only after a cyclist had run into it. The victim, Montavilla resident Carlene Ostedegaard, needed medical attention and was lucky to not sustain a more serious injury.

Three men were seen running away from the place of the incident and the police officers were able to arrest them. Justin Jones (23), Antonio R Tolman-Duran (27) and Dakota Murphy (21) were booked into jail and have since been released. They face charges of Assault in the Fourth Degree and three counts of Reckless Endangering.
