Dave Mirra’s Death Puzzles Friends

By Monica Buck

The host of MTV’s The Challenge, one of the most successful X-Games athletes ever and true legend of the cycling world sadly passed away last week. Dave Mirra’s death left the whole cycling community in mourning. While his family understandably wished for privacy during this difficult time, close friends of the BMX rider spoke to the press about their frustration and inability to comprehend the act.

“It just does not make any sense that he would do this. He adored his wife Lauren and his two girls. Anyone who knew Dave would say that he was the most devoted husband and doted on the girls. They were his life. It just does not make sense,” said Dave’s friend, who wished to remain anonymous, for Daily Mail.

Police sources confirmed that the guy Mirra visited was absolutely shocked, because they planned to go out together right after their meeting. Instead of that, Dave went out to his truck and supposedly shot himself.

Greenville Police spokesman Kristen Hunter said Mirra didn’t leave any suicide note but it is apparent from the interviews with the family members that he was, in fact, struggling.
