Wout van Aert Wins Stage One at the Dauphiné and Other Cool News from the World of Cycling

Another Monday is here, and so is our news from the world of cycling. So, what did you miss?

The Belgian wins the sprint

Wout van Aert’s teammate Primož Roglič might be eyeing the overall win at the Critérium du Dauphiné but it will be the Belgian wearing the yellow on the second day. The Jumbo-Visma rider proved to be the strongest in a bunch sprint finish. He sat on Ethan Hayter’s (Ineos Grenadiers) wheel in the final meters and then went past to claim the glory. Sean Quinn (EF Education-EasyPost) managed to finish third.

It is the fourth win in 2022 for van Aert who was forced to take a break due to covid-19 after the spring classics.
