Helsingvatnet rundt
Park at Hestanåne. Follow the cart track on the right-hand side of the main road
towards Lykkja. At Elvik turn left. Cross the main road and follow the track to
Grøtestølatn. Take a right turn towards Løkjistølatn and continue left to Ulsåkstølen (follow the
Ulsåkstølen gravel road). At the Ulsåkstølen mountain farm you can see the animals
and get a good meal of traditional food. The gravel road ends at Fekjastølatn. Here
you can choose a nice walk to Såta mountain/ Skogshødn skiferbrudd (slate quarries) / Skurvefjell / Trøimsbotn / Hemsedal centre or follow the walking path to Helsingliveien to cycle around Helsingvatnet
lake. The track is technically with a lot of stones. Follow Helsingliveien gravel road back
to Lykkjavegen where you turn left and bike back on the asphalt road to Hestanåne.
Alternatively, follow the footpath around Gravsetåsen and visit the Top 20 peaks
Storhøvda and Gjeiteberget and the Hallingdal museum (Hemsedal Bygdatun).
