Roglič Wins Critérium du Dauphiné and Other Cool News from the World of Cycling

By Monica Buck

Another Monday is here, and so is our news from the world of cycling. So, what did you miss?

1-2 on GC for Jumbo Visma

Jonas Vingegaard won stage eight of the Critérium du Dauphiné after an impressive attack on the final climb of the race. Primož Roglič was the only one who could hold onto the 25-year-old and they crossed the finishing line hand in hand. Primož Roglič secured the overall win and the Dane finished second in the GC. Ben O’Connor (AG2R Citroën Team) placed third overall. Looks like Jumbo-Visma is properly ready ahead of the Tour. We can’t wait for Roglič to fight Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates). What about you?

“This is great. I can’t describe it any other way”, an elated Roglič said. “A beautiful day for our team. Everyone has ridden great. We can all enjoy this. I am thrilled with the final win in this Dauphiné. We also came here to prepare for the Tour de France. We are on the right track. We still have a few weeks to put in the finishing touches. Hopefully, we can still improve a little bit. I am happy that I am no longer bothered by my knee injury. That gives me confidence in the run-up to the upcoming races. We will now enjoy this beautiful week, then rest briefly and train well with the team in Tignes.”
