By WeLoveCycling

Not long ago, we staked out a bold new goal for We Love Cycling magazine: to collect as many of the worst cycle lanes across the globe as we could and gather them in the biggest gallery of its kind. And thus, the Worst Cycle Lane in the World Gallery was born! It’s been driven purely by user submissions. Here’s our selection of the ‘best’ entries from the UK!

As horrifying as the covid-19 pandemic has been, it positively affected the traffic composition in many countries, the UK being one of them. In June 2020, the UK government launched the Gear change: a bold vision for cycling and walking plan. Sustrans, a UK-based charity, introduced the National Cycle Network, which links over 10,000 miles of traffic-free or traffic-calmed routes and quiet country lanes. However, there’s still room for improvement. Let’s get closer and check it out.
