In Africa, having a bike means having greater access to opportunities. To this end, we are working with the stars of our film \u201cBeyond Shrink and Pink,\u201d to auction a one-of-a-kind Cinelli bicycle and accompanying apparel, with 100% of the proceeds going to providing bikes to women in Africa.<\/strong>

In Part 2 of our series, \u201cBeyond Shrink and Pink<\/a>,\u201d\u00a0we continue our conversations with Alessandra Cusatelli, chief art director of Italian bike manufacturer Cinelli, Alex Feechan, owner of women\u2019s cycling apparel designer Findra, and Sarah Drummond of Cycle Hack, as well as artist Ana Benaroya as they create a one-of-a-kind bicycle and accompanying apparel.<\/p>\n

The bike and apparel will be auctioned for charity with 100% of the proceeds going to World Bicycle Relief<\/a>, a non-profit organization that provides access to independence and livelihood through the power of bicycles. To a young woman in Africa, a bicycle changes everything by providing access to education, medical care, independence and livelihood. By supporting World Bicycle Relief, we and the women of \u201cBeyond Shrink and Pink\u201d are proud to be doing our part to help mobilize young women through the power of bicycles.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are many things which earn profit and which have emancipated the woman,\u201d says Alessandra Cusatelli about the charity project. \u201cThe bicycle is certainly one of those.\u201d<\/p>\n

What\u2019s being auctioned<\/h2>\n

Alessandra Cusatelli is working with New York-based artist Ana Benaroya<\/a> to create the one-of-a-kind bike for the auction.<\/p>\n

Ana has in the past created works for Ralph Lauren, Lincoln Center, National Geographic and The New York Times, amongst others. \u201cI\u2019ve never painted a bicycle before,\u201d she says. \u201cIt\u2019s a new challenge and something that in the end will be for a good cause as well.\u201d<\/p>\n
