The wait is finally over. The 2026 Tour de France began this Saturday, and the race is not exactly tiptoeing into the room. It starts in Barcelona with a 19.6 km team time trial, which means we are getting tension, speed and carefully managed panic from the very first day.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A bad one looks like a group project where everyone has a different deadline.<\/p>\n

The Barcelona route should make for a spectacular start. The finish toward Montju\u00efc adds just enough difficulty to make things interesting, especially for the general classification riders. This year\u2019s team time trial format also adds another layer of pressure because individual rider times count. That makes the day more than just a test of team strength.
