The engine must build. The spreadsheet must be fed.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s how to trick your brain into loving it. A slow-burning biopic about an athlete rebuilding after a scandal they didn\u2019t cause but <em>definitely made worse.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>You\u2019re not just spinning gently \u2014 you\u2019re <em>crafting your comeback<\/em>.<br \/>\nCue the music. Your brain is screaming. Then you remember humility.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Turn it into a podcast binge or an audiobook degree<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Base rides are the perfect time to ignore your speed and educate your mind.<\/p>\n<p>You can:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Learn a language<\/li>\n<li>Catch up on every cycling podcast you lied about listening to<\/li>\n<li>Re-listen to Harry Potter for the 17th time<\/li>\n<li>Dive into a six-part true crime series and question all your friendships<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Just make sure you don\u2019t zone out so hard you end up in Belgium.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Make peace with being overtaken<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>It will happen. Roadies. E-bikers. People wearing baggy shorts and Crocs. You\u2019ll want to chase. You\u2019ll want to explain. You\u2019ll feel that rage boil up in your chest.<\/p>\n<p>But you\u2019ll breathe.
