It was a day that had everything: attacks, isolation, gambles\u2014and triumphs. On a bruising Stage 10 of the 2025 Tour de France, Simon Yates seized his moment in the Massif Central, attacking from the breakaway to claim a third career Tour stage win while Irishman Ben Healy capped a heroic day by pulling on the yellow jersey.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn’t even feel that good,\u201d Yates confessed after crossing the line alone in Le Mont-Dore Puy de Sancy. \u201cIt was a really hard start to be there. That\u2019s why I took advantage into the final corners at the bottom of the last descent. I was looking for a bit of a head start\u2014and I just did my best from there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yates\u2019s last win at the Tour came in 2019, and even he hadn\u2019t expected this one. \u201cIt’s been a long time,\u201d he said. \u201cBut actually I wasn’t expecting any opportunities here. We came here fully focused on Jonas [Vingegaard] and the GC. Yeah, and the stage played out in a way that I could be there for the stage, and I took it with both hands.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite coming into the Tour<\/a> fatigued from his Giro d\u2019Italia win in May, the Briton is clearly growing into form. \u201cIt’s not easy, I’m still a bit tired from there but I’m getting better every day,\u201d he admitted. \u201cI was a bit rusty at the start but I’ve been growing into the race.\u201d<\/p>\n

Healy sacrifices the stage, earns the maillot jaune<\/strong><\/h2>\n

While Yates took the glory on the line, Ben Healy delivered one of the grittiest performances of the Tour so far\u2014riding selflessly, relentlessly, and ultimately into yellow.<\/p>\n

Healy had been one of the most aggressive riders all day, first making the huge 20-man break and then relentlessly forcing the pace, aware of the yellow jersey potential. As the stage wound toward its final climbs, he led a dangerous move alongside Ben O\u2019Connor and Joe Blackmore, with several others, including Yates, bridging across.<\/p>\n
