This year\u2019s UCI Road World Championships are gearing up to be a real cycling milestone. Taking place between 17th and 25th September 2022 in a historical second for Australia, the battle for the rainbow jersey will unfold in Wollongong, \u201cthe southern hemisphere\u2019s only UCI bike city\u201d. Besides 300 million expected viewers globally, the event is estimated to welcome about 300,000 onsite visitors. As we know from the Grand Tours, excellent logistics are, without exaggeration, indispensable to an event of such proportions. And as with other major road cycling races, \u0160koda vehicles offered to take up that role.<\/strong><\/p>\n

More specifically, \u0160koda Australia partnered with Wollongong 2022, the organising committee for the 2022 UCI Road World Championships. In total, the automaker will provide 58 cars \u2013 50 KAROQ Styles for the National Federation cars (aka the team cars) and eight KAROQ<\/a> Sportlines for the race\u2019s officials, including Race Director Scott Sunderland and his commissaires.<\/p>\n

Wollongong 2022 chair Dean Dalla Valle expressed gratitude to S\u030cKODA for partnering with the event, while acknowledging the brand\u2019s continuous support of the sport: \u201cS\u030cKODA is synonymous with cycling through the ongoing support for the Grand Tour points classification leader jersey \u2013 or Green Jersey \u2013 and has a long-standing history of supporting international cycling on the world stage,\u201d Mr Dalla Valle said. \u201cThis is the meeting of two outstanding partners who share a commitment to high-performance and making the road a safer place for cyclists and drivers,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
