Germany is slowly getting ready for the country\u2019s only elite stage race \u2013 the Deutschland Tour 2022. With several world\u2019s best teams confirming attendance, such as BORA \u2013 hansgrohe, Jumbo-Visma, INEOS Grenadiers, UAE Team Emirates, Bahrain-Victorious and more, all road cycling enthusiasts can look forward to five action-packed August days. And for eager amateur cyclists, there\u2019s also the Jedermann Tour, ridden on the last stage of the Deutschland Tour, open to anyone brave enough \u2013 which could also be you.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Albeit only five days long, taking place between 24th and 28th August, the Deutschland Tour\u2019s 710-kilometre course with 11,000 metres of altitude will test the versatility of the riders to the max. For the first time, the race features a prologue \u2013 and explosively fast and picturesque 2.7-km urban time trial through the centre of Weimar, a city in the Free State of Thuringia. From there, the riders will be working their way through four stages towards the finish line in the capital of Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg in Stuttgart. As mentioned earlier, versatility will be key for the riders as the race features all the staples of a breathtaking road event \u2013 a sprint finish, a selective finish lap, a mountain finish and a classic course \u2013 so anyone from sprinters to puncheurs will have a chance to shine.<\/p>\n

Naturally, such a prominent race has spawned multiple accompanying events, such as the Mini Tour for kids, the Expo Tour for up-and-coming talent, and the Jedermann Tour, the largest and most tempting one for amateur cyclists. Literally meaning \u201c everyman\u2019s tour\u201d, the Jedermann Tour invites anyone, man or woman, with the stamina and suitable bicycle to join. Taking place in and around Stuttgart on 28th August, the amateurs will take on the fourth stage of the Deutschland Tour before the pros finish on it later the same day. There are two tempting courses to choose from, either the shorter \u201cWeinbergrunde\u201d (57 km) or the longer tour \u201cDurch die Region Stuttgart\u201d (116 km). According to estimates, about 3,000 cyclists will gather on the Jedermann Tour\u2019s starting line \u2013 and five of those could be our readers.<\/p>\n
