So, what did you miss?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2><strong>He did it again<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Wout van Aert extended his winning streak to three in a row after a stunning performance in Val di Sole. The Belgian finished nearly a minute before Michael Vanthourenhout. Tom Pidcock claimed third place and was additional 40 seconds behind.<\/p>\n<p>The women\u2019s race offered far more excitement. Fem van Empel finished just six seconds ahead of Marianne Vos. The 19-year-old was on defence in the finale and Vos was looking to overtake. However, Vos clipped a fence, fell off her bike and Van Empel was able to ride away and win.<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-controller-wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">A spectacular race in Italy with an even more spectacular finish! \ud83c\uddee\ud83c\uddf9 Relive Fem van Empel\u2019s first professional victory! \ud83d\udc4f <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/CXWorldCup?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#CXWorldCup<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/5ct2JsIgn1\">pic.twitter.com\/5ct2JsIgn1<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup (@UCIcyclocrossWC) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/UCIcyclocrossWC\/status\/1470061950004510731?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 12, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async data-src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div>\n<p>\u201cI was disappointed after that mistake in the last corner but I&#8217;m still happy,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingweekly.com\/news\/wout-van-aert-wins-snowy-cyclocross-in-val-di-sole-pidcock-third-while-vos-crashes-in-finale-of-womens-race\">Vos said<\/a> after the finish. \u201cI&#8217;m glad I could still fight for the win. But Fem rode great, and I know I made a mistake and couldn&#8217;t make it right.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have seen a lot of spectacle [here]. This is sport at the highest level and in a great location. This race has proven that you can do cyclocross anywhere,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingweekly.com\/news\/wout-van-aert-wins-snowy-cyclocross-in-val-di-sole-pidcock-third-while-vos-crashes-in-finale-of-womens-race\">Van Aert said<\/a> of his day in the snow. \u201cIn a park in a big city but also in the mountains. We have proven that. It&#8217;s great that I was able to experience it and that I&#8217;m part of it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will return to Dendermonde but I won&#8217;t be there next week because of a training camp with the team,\u201d Van Aert continued of what lies ahead this winter period. \u201cAnd after that, I&#8217;ll ride a full Christmas period with almost all the races.
