So, what did you miss?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Tadej Poga\u010dar joins an exclusive club<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Eddy Merckx, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.welovecycling.com\/wide\/2020\/11\/27\/5-of-cyclings-classic-rivalries\/\">Bernard Hinault,<\/a> Fausto Coppi and now Tadej Poga\u010dar. Those are the only riders to have won the Tour and Il Lombardia in the same season. That\u2019s not a bad company for the young Slovenian to be in, is it? And only <a href=\"https:\/\/www.welovecycling.com\/wide\/2021\/06\/30\/the-fall-of-eddy-merckx-the-greatest-tour-de-france-champion\/\">Eddy Merckx<\/a> managed to win Li\u00e8ge-Bastogne-Li\u00e8ge in the same year as well.<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-controller-wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Nothing to say, but thanks to everyone but rly everyone involved \ud83d\ude4f\ud83e\udd70\u2665\ufe0f. It was a bold move and with Julian Alaphilippe and Primo\u017e Rogli\u010d behind him, it was also an ambitious one. However, even with the late catching up by Fausto Masnada and his unwillingness to cooperate, Tadej Poga\u010dar did it.
