Another Monday is here, and so is our news from the world of cycling. So, what did you miss?<\/strong>

The Italian does it again<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Filippo Ganna successfully defended his title as the men\u2019s time-trial world champion. The 25-year-old beat both home favourites, Wout van Aert and Remco Evenepoel, in a superb finish. Van Aert finished the 43.3-km course in 47:53, 36 seconds up on Evenepoel. However, Ganna then beat van Aert by 6 seconds. The Ineos Grenadiers rider won after losing out on the European title to Stefan K\u00fcng 10 days earlier.<\/p>\n<\/lite-youtube>\n

The Belgians were understandably disappointed. Wout van Aert finished second last year as well and was really honest in front of the TV cameras. “It’s not funny anymore to get second,” he said. “I feel a bit disappointed, not really about my performance because I\u2019m actually quite happy with how everything went, I made no mistakes, my time trial was steady, I think, I was just beaten by a stronger rider, a specialist in this discipline.”<\/p>\n

“I wanted to be on the podium but not second and third,\u201d Remco Evenepoel stated about the Belgians losing again. \u201cBut if Filippo is competing, it\u2019s going to be hard to beat him. It\u2019s been three years we\u2019ve been second in the TT champs and it feels like we\u2019re not allowed to be world champion.”

Riding 20 miles across London and 20 miles back today:<\/p>\n

1) Only one close pass. It wasn't that close.<\/p>\n

2) People weren't awful. But cars are SO BIG now.<\/p>\n

3) A few cyclists were annoying, but never dangerous.<\/p>\n

4) It was free, fun and as fast as the train. Faster than the car.<\/p>\n
