Chris Froome suffered multiple injuries back then, including a fractured femur, elbow and ribs.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Froome told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=bjW2CjwXdD8\">Cycling Pro Net<\/a> at the start of stage five of the Dauphin\u00e9: \u201cI\u2019m not talking about winning the Tour de France in a few weeks, that\u2019s for sure. I\u2019m focused on returning to my former level and taking one step at a time. I don\u2019t go from this level to winning the Tour de France in a few weeks.<\/p>\n<lite-youtube videoid=bjW2CjwXdD8 params=\"enablejsapi=1\" style=\"background-image: url('https:\/\/i.ytimg.com\/vi_webp\/bjW2CjwXdD8\/maxresdefault.webp');\"><\/lite-youtube>\n<p>\u201cI know where I\u2019ve come from. A year ago I was on a bike, racing before I could even walk properly.\u00a0 To be here in the Dauphin\u00e9 walking properly, having no issues, and being in the race is great progress already. I\u2019m looking at those measurements. I know other people don\u2019t see those measurements because they don\u2019t see what happens behind the scenes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The four-time Tour winner hopes to come back to the Tour as a GC leader for the Israel Start-Up Nation. However, his sports director said Froome\u2018s selection is not guaranteed. So far, he finished all four stage races he entered in 2021 but was not able to compete for victory. I expect there will be some clarity during this Dauphin\u00e9.
