Another Monday is here, and so is our news from the world of cycling. So, what did you miss?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Dane did it<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Kasper Asgreen (Elegant \u2013 Quick-Step) outsprinted Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Fenix) to win the Tour of Flanders 2021! Mathieu van der Poel attacked on the third and last ascent of the Oude Kwaremont. He managed to drop Wout van Aert (Jumbo-Visma) but was soon joined by Kasper Asgreen. The duo worked well together and stayed alone for the final sprint. When the Dane launched his effort, van der Poel seemed to be matching it. However, after a short while he pulled up, completely spent, shaking his head as Asgreen crossed the finish line ahead of him. Greg Van Avermaet (Ag2r Citro\u00ebn) completed the podium after he attacked from the chase group with a few kilometres left.<\/p>\n

    Annemiek van Vleuten wins again<\/strong><\/h2>\n

    The European champion won the Tour of Flanders for the second time with her signature long-range attack. She made the move on the Paterberg, the race\u2019s last climb 13 km from the finish, and managed to hold off seven chasers. German champion Lisa Brennauer (Ceratizit-WNT) won the sprint for second place. Grace Brown (BikeExchange) finished third.<\/p>\n
