So, what did you miss?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2><strong>The authorities are pessimistic<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>16 regions in France went back into lockdown over the weekend for at least a month. Lockdown restrictions include the closure of non-essential shops and resident travel limited \u00a0to within 10 kilometres of home. Paris-Roubaix is planned for April 11 and would take place entirely within one of the 16 regions under lockdown.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_182323\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-182323\" style=\"width: 1024px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/d2p6e6u75xmxt8.cloudfront.net\/2\/2021\/03\/Paris-Roubaix-profimedia-0426145435.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-182323 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/d2p6e6u75xmxt8.cloudfront.net\/2\/2021\/03\/Paris-Roubaix-profimedia-0426145435-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"2019 Paris-Roubaix\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-182323\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Paris-Roubax is unlikely to take place this April. \u00a9 Profimedia<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The prefect of the Hauts-de-France region said it\u2019s unlikely that Paris-Roubaix will happen. Hospitals are currently overwhelmed in Hauts-de-France, and ICU beds have an occupancy rate of nearly 120%.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ll give you an answer when the time is right, but right now you can guess,\u201d Michel Lalande told the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/fbleunord\/status\/1373899235633020929\">radio station France Bleu Nord<\/a>. \u201cThe sky now looks less blue.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 2020 Paris-Roubaix was postponed until October and then cancelled altogether as a result of the pandemic.
