They promised to strengthen the squad for the four-time Tour champion and they are beginning to deliver. Norwegian climber Carl Fredrik Hagen is the first sign of Israel Start-Up Nation<\/a>\u2019s attack on the top World Tour teams.<\/strong>

The 28-year-old only started with road cycling at the age of 23. However, he won the Tour du Jura in 2018 and finished eighth for Lotto-Soudal at the 2019 Vuelta a Espa\u00f1a.<\/p>\n

\u201cI look forward to evolving further in a team with these ambitions,\u201d Carl Fredrik said. \u201cWorking together with some of the world\u2019s best riders. It\u2019s going to be exciting and fun to be integrated into a new team, which hasn\u2019t yet reached its full potential. We\u2019ll build up together toward success in the coming years. I\u2019m looking for a role and an opportunity to achieve some good results in the GC and individual stages, as well as to support the team captains to succeed in the mountains.\u201d<\/p>\n

Israel Start-Up Nation\u2019s manager Kjell Carlstrom added: \u201cCarl Fredrik showed remarkable things in his first year in the World Tour, with top ten overall placings in several stage races, including the Vuelta.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe believe he has the potential to go further. We see him having a double position in the team \u2013 he can learn and gain more expertise while being a great help to our other riders and getting his own chances in other races, including Grand Tours.\u201d<\/p>\n

While the 2020 Tour looks very promising, the 2021 Tour might be even better. Do you think Chris Froome<\/a> will add to his tally of seven Grand Tour wins?<\/p>\n
