A short, sharp ascent on the outskirts of Masham should see a few seconds gained early on for the favourites. Then a fast section follows as riders pass into Risplith. However, from then on, barely a flat metre of road appears. We\u2019ll see how much power there is left in the riders in the last fast section into Harrogate before they go up to the finish on Parliament Street. With the star-filled line-up, this day should be one to remember.<\/strong>

The defending champion, Rohan Dennis, is certainly confident going into the race. Despite the fact that he hasn\u2019t raced since quitting the Tour de France in July.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy expectations are to back up and win again. I think in the worst-case scenario, I\u2019ll still be on the podium. If things go smoothly and I get the performance out of myself that I know I really can, there\u2019s no reason why I can\u2019t win.\u201d<\/p>\n
