There is no reason denying it. With seven Tour de France \u0160koda Green Jerseys under his belt, he is the record-breaker and the ultimate Mr Green. So, how come the Vuelta\u2019s overall winner Primo\u017e Rogli\u010d won the green as well? With all due respect, he is no sprinter \u2013 the reason is is because the points classification at La Vuelta is entirely different from the one at the Tour.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The points are awarded according to the placement at the finish line of every single stage. There are intermediate sprints as well but the number of points awarded there (4 points for the fastest rider) does not make much difference in comparison to the stage wins (25 points for the fastest rider). With the high number of summit finishes at La Vuelta, the results often correlate with the general classification.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/B2XCVzkINRl\/<\/p>\n<p>In 2012, for example, John Degenkolb won five sprint stages but finished fourth in the points classification. Alejandro Valverde scored the points needed in the mountains and beat him by 50 in the end. Coincidently, Valverde, alongside Se\u00e1n Kelly and Laurent Jalabert, has 4 titles to his name. Will Rogli\u010d threaten this record in the future?
