Another Monday is here and our news from the world of cycling with it! So, what did you miss?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Crowdfunding for safety<\/strong><\/h2>\n

After last year\u2019s success of the \u2018close pass mats\u2019 the British national charity for cyclists, Cycling UK, is raising money for another campaign<\/a>. They aim to supply police departments with VR sets, in order to allow the non-cyclists to experience the danger of a close pass.
\n\u201cFor the two million people who cycle every day, close passes are an almost daily occurrence. Close passes are not only really intimidating but also dangerous: police attribute \u2018passing too close to the cyclist\u2019 as a contributory factor in a staggering 25% of serious collisions between cyclists and large vehicles,\u201d reads the campaign statement.<\/p>\n

Cycling UK was aiming for \u00a315,000 to provide VR sets for 45 departments. However, the backers have already exceeded the original goal. With 11 days to go, this campaign is proving to be another success.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t like the trend of all these gravel races. But i can imagine that some riders like this kind. Why not put them in a seperate classification and combine all gravel races. Gravelcup is born.<\/p>\n
