Have a look at\u00a0a new design of a trophy, which will be held on Champs-\u00c9lys\u00e9es by the winner of this years Tour.<\/strong><span id=\"more-140801\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<lite-youtube videoid=A979vhv4E-E params=\"enablejsapi=1\" style=\"background-image: url('https:\/\/i.ytimg.com\/vi_webp\/A979vhv4E-E\/maxresdefault.webp');\"><\/lite-youtube>\n<p>The Tour de France\u00a0<em>Glass Trophy<\/em>\u00a0is truly a beauty to desire and Le Tour would be far from complete without it. Its current form has been making appearance on the winners\u2019 podium on the Champs-Elys\u00e9es boulevard in Paris since 2011, when it replaced an array of varied shapes from the past. Founded in 1895, it took the factory just ten years to produce their first automobile after making quality Czech bicycles. And that\u2019s how \u0160koda was born.<\/p>\n<p>To draw from its Czech and cycling heritage even more and to strengthen its bond with history, \u0160koda decided to gift Le Tour winners with original designer trophies. The minimalist silhouette was inspired by a bike tyre shape and the design changes every year, but the inspiration draws from both the past and the future at the same time.<\/p>\n<p><a symbolised with Czech crystal and Czech Cubism, feats that reached worldwide fame, and that fluidly evolved into \u0160koda\u2019S current design language and d\u00e9cor, projected into crystalline of the best living cyclists in the world, but he gets to have and actual piece of history on his mantelpiece.<\/p>\n<h2><strong><u>Glass\u00a0Trophy facts:<\/u><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Weight: 4 kg (8.8 lbs): approx. as a baby koala bear or adult iguana<\/p>\n<p>Height: 60 cm (23.6 in): approx. as an average 4-month-old baby<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s made by hand in the Czech Republic by renowned glass workshop Lasvit<\/p>\n<p>\u0160koda\u2019s designers directly participate in the trophies\u2019 final look \u2013 this year is inspired by the brand\u2019s historically first electric car\u2019s dashboard design \u2013 \u0160koda VISION E<\/p>\n<p>\u0160koda has been the Green Jersey\u2019s sponsor since 2015 and created a special version of the trophy from green glass to honour the winner<\/p>\n<p>Both the 2015 and 2016 Glass Trophies were won by a single person \u2013 Peter Sagan<\/p>\n<p>There are always a few \u201cbackup\u201d trophies in case some of them get
