As the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lequipe.fr\/Cyclisme-sur-route\/Article\/En-plein-doute-christopher-froome-a-des-envies-d-ailleurs\/808523\">French sports daily l\u2019Equipe reports<\/a>, he is looking at a potential \u20ac5 million a year deal. But the BMC Racing general manager Jim Ochowicz is said to be now focused on securing the TAG Heuer sponsorship as a replacement for the BMC bike brand.<\/strong><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The incident of medicine being delivered to Wiggins at the 2011 Criterium du Dauphin\u00e9 and his Therapeutic Use Exemptions tarnished the Team Sky\u2019s image and Chris Froome was none too happy about it. He was also disappointed with the way Sir Dave Brailsford handled the situation, even refusing to sign a letter expressing the team\u2019s support for him.<\/p>\n<p>He later did release a statement supporting Brailsford but the wording showed he was clearly not pleased with the outcome.<\/p>\n<p>Froome could potentially join his former lieutenant Richie Porte, who is now at BMC and who put out a splendid performance lately at a time trial on Stage 4 at the Criterium du Dauphin\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll keep you updated as the story continues to develop.<\/p>\n<p><strong>UPDATE: Froome dismissed the l\u2019Equipe report that he has discussed signing for BMC Racing in the future. &#8220;Complete rubbish. I don\u2019t know where that\u2019s come from,&#8221; he told Cyclingnews. &#8220;As it stands I have a contract until the end of 2018. I\u2019ve got no intentions of leaving. I\u2019ve not even thought about it. There\u2019s been no discussion with Ochowicz.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>UPDATE 2:\u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s a complete lie. That\u2019s a lie,\u201d Ochowicz told Cycling Weekly. \u201cI wouldn\u2019t even classify it as a rumour.
