The road has been damaged since at least March 2015, and it is only getting worse. People from Plumtree where the pothole is located have been complaining about it for months, but nothing has been done so far. The tweet below might change things, though, as the celebration went viral quickly.<\/strong><br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-controller-wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Plumtree?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Plumtree<\/a> potholes mark yet another birthday .. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/YsRAAF03v3\">pic.twitter.com\/YsRAAF03v3<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Plumtree People (@PlumtreePeople) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PlumtreePeople\/status\/847541920909983744?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 30, 2017<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async data-src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div>\n<p>\u201cI nearly put three candles on but I thought that might be pushing it. It\u2019s dangerous for people who drive, and who cycle, because if you come to a pothole you have to swerve out in to the road which makes it unsafe for everyone. I last complained back in September or October time last year and they came and said they weren\u2019t bad enough to fix,\u201d Vonnie Daykin, the organiser, told Nottingham Post.<\/p>\n<p>The media attention it\u2019s received even got the council\u2019s Twitter manager to reply.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/d2p6e6u75xmxt8.cloudfront.net\/2\/2017\/05\/8484.JPG.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-147937\" src=\"https:\/\/d2p6e6u75xmxt8.cloudfront.net\/2\/2017\/05\/8484.JPG.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"633\" height=\"515\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe take the quality of highways surfaces in Nottinghamshire very seriously and use inspections to prioritise our planned maintenance works and make any critical repairs as needed. In this particular case, we inspect this road monthly as it is classed as a &#8216;C&#8217; road and any defects that are considered a hazard are identified for repair. We have a number of enquiries recorded from this caller with each one resulting in an inspection,\u201d Don Fitch, a team manager for Via East Midlands, said.<\/p>\n<p>Do you have problems with potholes in your hometown?
