A study conducted in 2016 showed the Comox-Helmcken Greenway has increased cycling trips by 49%.<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-controller-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"embed-wrapper\"><iframe title=\"Vancouver&#039;s Breathtaking Network of Safe, Protected Cycletracks\" data-src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/183441272?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2><strong>Vindictive Vancouver?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>It\u2019s not all sweetness and light in Vancouver\u2026 The City of Vancouver says that the 10th Avenue Corridor Project is a top priority for its Transportation 2040 vision \u2013 but it\u2019s become something of a controversy in 2016 with some commentators opposing it on the basis that it poses \u201csignificant safety risks for persons who are ill, elderly, and\/or have a disability\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-145682\" src=\"https:\/\/d2p6e6u75xmxt8.cloudfront.net\/2\/2016\/12\/178487478.JPG.jpg\" alt=\"178487478\" width=\"715\" height=\"338\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Challenge 250 in India<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>India\u2019s cricket team are known for knocking it out of the park, but their government should be applauded for a remarkable achievement in 2016 \u2013 a 3-metre-wide cycle path whose opening was celebrated by Challenge 250.<\/p>\n<p>The cycle path connects a mind-boggling 90 villages between Etawah and Agra and passes through beautiful historical sites like the Bateshwar Shiva temples. What better way to celebrate Indian culture than a bicycle tour?<\/p>\n<h2><strong>New Zealand\u2019s longest cycleway completed<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Few countries can claim to be as committed to transport revolution as the Scandinavians were in the 70s and 80s, but New Zealand must be one of them.
