cycling.\u00a0 A year later, the 25-year-old took a brand new 2016 Dawes Galaxy on a tour of Islay\u2019s famous whisky distilleries.<\/strong><br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<h2><strong>The Great Outdoors<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Inspired by outdoor-survival videos he\u2019d seen online, Duncan attended a bushcraft course run by Ray Mears\u2019 company Woodlore.\u00a0 Duncan started planning trips where he was reliant on carrying everything he\u2019d need, including his own food and shelter \u2013 and he admitted to becoming obsessed over the details of how to carry his camping gear with a good destination under his own steam, but having pulled apart a bike and put it back together, Duncan realised that with a minimal amount of maintenance, a bicycle could take him a long \u2013 Duncan borrowed the Brooks B17 Saddle from his grandfather\u2019s 3-speed, and fitted racks for his two Ortlieb City panniers for his camping gear and food\u2026 and maybe some mementos from tour, the most obvious of which is the whisky.\u00a0 Islay is home to many famous distilleries including Ron Swanson\u2019s favourite \u2013 Lagavulin.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\"
