The FOR BIKES trade fair is the largest and most prominent cycling trade show in the Czech Republic, held annually at Prague’s largest exhibition center. Last year’s event hosted 243 exhibitors from 8 countries and was attended by 30,521 visitors. As no international premiers of foreign brands were announced we looked closer at the products of the Czech cycling industry.\u00a0<\/strong>
\n<\/p>\n

Favorit<\/b><\/h2>\n

\"Before<\/a><\/p>\n

Before the Velvet Revolution and the end of the communism era Favorit was one of the few brands available<\/a> on the Czechoslovak market. Slovakian entrepreneur Richard Galovi\u010d reincarnated the brand and the company now produces hi-end bicycles of high quality frames, including hand made carbon fibre models.<\/p>\n

Winning bike<\/b><\/h2>\n

\"Czech<\/a><\/p>\n

Czech biker Jaroslav Kulhav\u00fd won the gold medal in the cross-country event at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London and he’s overall winner of the UCI World Cup 2011. He achieved his success on this particular bike, which was part of the Specialized booth.<\/p>\n

Ambassador’s machine<\/b><\/h2>\n

Czech WeLoveCycling ambassador Richard Gasperotti has recently returned from his adventure in Taiwan. His bike was shown at the POC’s helmet and protection stand as it came directly from the airport.<\/p>\n

Tiny parts<\/b><\/h2>\n

Yedoo is a company based in Prague. The name resembles a Czech word for \u201cjedu\u201d (I’m riding!). They offer a wide range of scooters and bikes for the smallest riders.<\/p>\n
