This rising star and 2015 artistic cycling vice-champion is an example of stubbornness, discipline and a power of will. That\u2019s why she\u2019s representing our Dream Big series.<\/strong><br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<lite-youtube videoid=WHWVDQFsMm0 params=\"enablejsapi=1\" style=\"background-image: url('https:\/\/i.ytimg.com\/vi_webp\/WHWVDQFsMm0\/maxresdefault.webp');\"><\/lite-youtube>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nicole\u2019s ultimate balance is not something she was born with. For the past fourteen years she dedicated all her free time and resources to mastering her simple fixed-gear bike. And it really takes time to learn artistic cycling \u2013 some easy tricks you can learn in one day but the most complicated ones take almost two years of falling and getting back <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> saddle over and over again. You have to find the last remnants of patience somewhere deep inside you to endure and finally see some results.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.welovecycling.com\/blog\/133609\/unbelievable-story-lost-45kg-and-became-national-champ\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-136641\" src=\"https:\/\/d2p6e6u75xmxt8.cloudfront.net\/2\/2016\/03\/article-banners-600x165-unbelievable-story-600x165.png\" alt=\"Hayley Simmonds\" width=\"600\" height=\"165\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What started as a <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">child\u2019s<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> curiosity became an obsession. And that\u2019s how a fourteen-year old girl appeared on a 2008 Indoor Cycling World Championships as a youngest competitor.<\/span><\/p>\n<lite-youtube videoid=0Mb7UtPEHGU params=\"enablejsapi=1\" style=\"background-image: url('https:\/\/i.ytimg.com\/vi_webp\/0Mb7UtPEHGU\/maxresdefault.webp');\"><\/lite-youtube>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In an interview Nicole said that what she likes <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">most about this sport is a fact that not everyone is doing it. But this exclusivity, almost strangeness to <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> general public, also has its downside \u2013 financing. You have to train 6 times a week, pay for your bike and everything else and still make a living elsewhere, this beautiful sport is totally outside of sponsor<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">s\u2019 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">viewfinder.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/d2p6e6u75xmxt8.cloudfront.net\/2\/2016\/03\/1-3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-136639\" src=\"https:\/\/d2p6e6u75xmxt8.cloudfront.net\/2\/2016\/03\/1-3-600x400.jpg\" alt=\"In an interview Nicole said that what she likes the most about this sport is a fact that not everyone is doing it. But this exclusivity, almost strangeness to the general public, also has its downside \u2013 financing.\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But it doesn\u2019t matter &#8211; Nicole is willing to take turns in a small training area, she overcomes occasional dislocated ankle or instep and sacrifices her free time to see herself win the first place <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">i<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">n <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> World championships. Last year in Malaysia she almost made it and ended up second.
