We Love Cycling ambassador Richard Gaspi Gasperotti once again set sails to explore another foreign country within his long-period project, Zam. This time he\u2019s chosen Taiwan. Here we are with some lines he sent to us from the island.<\/strong>
\n<\/p>\n

\"We<\/a><\/p>\n

We arrived <\/span>to<\/span> Taiwan full of expectations. It\u2019s a land with the biggest and most advanced bicycle industry in the world, but it\u2019s also an island that only a few know about. Directly from the capital city Taipei we got a shuttle to Taichung<\/span>,<\/span> which is <\/span>the<\/span> third <\/span>largest<\/span> city<\/span> of the island. We\u2019ve borrowed a car from the FUNN company to travel around the country. <\/span>Those<\/span> guys <\/span>are supporting<\/span> my <\/span>carrier for a very long time and this time they could provide a great assistance in their <\/span>homeland<\/span>. Cheers!<\/span><\/p>\n

\"This<\/a><\/p>\n

The first two days we spent a great <\/span>part of<\/span> time with local riders on their secret trails. I showed them some tricks and we had a big fun together.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Here<\/a><\/p>\n

The idea of Zam is simple – to find new spots for cycling <\/span>wherever<\/span> we go. It means <\/span>a<\/span> lot of preliminary work with <\/span>G<\/span>oogle <\/span>M<\/span>aps and <\/span>G<\/span>oogle <\/span>E<\/span>arth, <\/span>a<\/span> lot of <\/span>Facebook<\/span> contacts and writing and of course – <\/span>a<\/span> lot of luck.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"The<\/a><\/p>\n

The Kenting National Park in the southern tip of the island was extremely windy. The wave<\/span>s<\/span> crashed hard on the rocks and the salt water flew through the air.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\"The<\/a><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n

In <\/span>comparison<\/span> with the Alpine countries <\/span>such<\/span> as Austria or France, there are only rare trails in the dense jungle. It takes a lot of time to find the tracks even for the mountain bike, but riding under the crowns of banana or palms trees is worth it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
