Another Monday is here and our news from the world of cycling with it! So what did you miss in the last couple of days? Read on to find out.<\/strong><\/p>\n

3D printed steel frame<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/lite-youtube>\n

\u201cPeople in Amsterdam will soon be able to cycle over the world’s first 3D-printed steel bridge on the world’s first 3D-printed steel bicycle,\u201d promised the MX3D studio. The bike, created by TU Delft student team, is already made\u00a0as you can see and it looks like nothing, we\u2019ve ever seen. It was created as part of the six-month Advanced Prototyping course at the university, the bicycle’s frame is made from a metal lattice welded in layers by robots.<\/p>\n

“It was important for us to design a functional object that people use every day. Being students in the Netherlands, a bicycle naturally came to mind. A bicycle frame is a good test for the technology because of the complex forces involved,” said team member Stef de Groot for dezeen.com.<\/p>\n

You can get paid to ride on EPO<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Dutch researchers are planning an unusual study<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>involving EPO. The Centre for Human Drug Research in Leiden wants to officially investigate the effects of EPO on the bike performance and potential side effects of its usage. The researchers, as reported by road.cc, claim that EPO might be banned, but there isn\u2019t any proof that it has performance-enhancing effects on cyclists.<\/p>\n

Well, we guess they haven\u2019t heard of a guy named Lance Armstrong…<\/p>\n

Whatever their reasons for this research might be, it\u2019s truly a unique opportunity, if you want to earn 860 euros and spend three days riding around Mount Ventoux. On the downside, you have a 50-percent chance of not ending up in the placebo group and really taking EPO.<\/p>\n
