But what often goes forgotten is that the country offers beautiful nature and breathtaking sceneries. And because we have many friends in this lovely country we decided to pay it a visit and to bike downhill its highest mountain Hoverla.<\/strong><!--more--><\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-controller-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"embed-wrapper\"><iframe title=\"Freeriding Ukraine\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/JpjfHOpyK_I?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The intent of the expedition, in which participated our ambassador Richard Gasperotti, was to show the virginal nature, picturesque villages and the hospitality of people, so typical for this country. The final destination was a small town of Jasi\u0148a and the Hoverla mountain, lying in the Transcarpathian region, regarded magical by the Ukrainians.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMedia often describe this country as a war zone so you may expect soldiers everywhere, but it really was just a nice backcountry biking with no problems,\u201d says Gaspi.\u201c Actually, the only \u201cproblem\u201d Gaspi had was that he finished the expedition with three broken ribs and he didn\u2019t even know it. He had an accident before the departure and when he got back the RTG showed this:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-132401\" src=\"https:\/\/d2p6e6u75xmxt8.cloudfront.net\/2\/2015\/12\/RTG_Gaspi-600x454.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"454\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Jasi\u0148a, with its altitude of 729 meters, was the most eastern Czechoslovakian town in its time, and the Hoverla looming over it with its 2061 metres in altitude is the highest mountain of the Ukraine, which just tempts you to do its first-time downhill on a bike.<\/p>\n<p>The order was clear: \u201cReach the peak by your means and then ride down on a bike\u201d.
