Juan Ayuso (UAE Team Emirates XRG) claimed the biggest win of his career at the 2025 Tirreno-Adriatico, securing his second general classification (GC) victory in dominant fashion. The Spanish cyclist took control of the race with a decisive performance on the queen stage and defended his lead comfortably on the final day. Meanwhile, Italian sprinter Jonathan Milan (Lidl-Trek) powered to his fifth victory of the season, showcasing his raw speed in the San Benedetto del Tronto finale.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ayuso\u2019s GC victory: A statement performance<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Ayuso\u2019s triumph at Tirreno-Adriatico marks a significant milestone in his career. Having already won the Faun Drome Classic and Trofeo Laigueglia earlier this season, he continued his impressive form in Italy. His commanding victory on Saturday\u2019s queen stage earned him the leader\u2019s jersey and a crucial 37-second cushion heading into the final day.<\/p>\n

“The trophy, for sure, is the coolest and the nicest one I have. It’s going to have a special place at home,” Ayuso said after the race. “I think we can probably say it’s my biggest victory, alongside Pa\u00eds Vasco [Itzulia Basque Country], but here I also won a stage, so I think it’s my best performance so far.”<\/p>\n

With this result, the UAE Team Emirates XRG rider is setting his sights on the Giro d’Italia, where he aims to defend his teammate Tadej Poga\u010dar\u2019s title. However, Ayuso remains grounded about the challenge ahead: “The Giro\u2019s a big goal, but it\u2019s three weeks long. It\u2019s a different story, a different kind of race. This race is really hard to win, and the Giro is another step. We\u2019ll take it day by day, and race by race. First, we have [Volta a] Catalunya.”<\/p>\n
