Saoirse is one of our new experts and a prolific and unstoppable Northern Irish bikepacker.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Her \u201cchaotic cycling adventures\u201d take place across the United Kingdom, Ireland, Malawi, Namibia, Botswana, and many more African countries, with the newest addition of South America\u2019s Argentina and Chile. Some of her most stunning feats include reaching the Equator Crossing or the world\u2019s southernmost city of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DFdX4anRel6\/?hl=cs&amp;img_index=1\">Ushuaia<\/a> by bike.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Her journey to tens of thousands of kilometres in the saddle started curiously: by not being able to afford plane tickets to Amsterdam and deciding to buy a \u201chighly unsuitable\u201d 80s commuter bike for \u00a345 to get there. This sparked a lasting passion in Saoirse, who, in her own words, \u201conce ran 5 km and couldn&#8217;t walk down the stairs for a week, and was terrified of riding bikes with drop handlebars\u201d.<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-controller-wrapper\"><iframe title=\"Spotify Embed: Saoirse Pottie: \u201cSkinny tyres go faster than fat ones. That was all I knew.\u201d\" style=\"border-radius: 12px\" width=\"100%\" height=\"152\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; fullscreen; picture-in-picture\" loading=\"lazy\" data-src=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/embed\/episode\/0mgqWKPxKYzy9ZpjMeMdrh?si=lXag2PJ5SO6DTc_bHrSDUQ&#038;utm_source=oembed\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now she\u2019s a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/going.pottie\/p\/CYmSPd1MJrt\/\">Guinness World Record holder<\/a>, a co-founder of Bikepacking Buds, and a relentless adventurer travelling sometimes alone, sometimes with other like-minded women.
