Nevertheless, to help keep you up to date as the 2021 racing season gets underway, we\u2019ve summarised the most notable changes in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.welovecycling.com\/wide\/2020\/12\/03\/highlights-of-womens-road-cycling-2020\/\">women\u2019s professional cycling<\/a>. From team name changes, new squads, and budding stars \u2013 here\u2019s what you need to know to stay on top of all your favourite women\u2019s teams and riders as they embark on a year of action-packed racing.<\/strong><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2><strong>New teams<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><em>As women\u2019s cycling continues to garner sponsorship and find increasingly innovative funding models, new teams are emerging all the time. Here are a few to keep your eye on in 2021.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Another U19 team is coming at you! For 2021, NXTG Racing has announced that it will add a U19 women\u2019s team to their racing program. The women\u2019s team has a two-tiered structure and will focus primarily on races in the national road series, the Tour series, and potentially participate in a few European events.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wbca.be\/bienvenue-a-bingoal-wb-ladies\/\">Bingoal-Wallonie-Bruxelles<\/a> has also announced that they\u2019ll be kicking off a women\u2019s cycling program in 2021. Ann-Sophie Duyck will be leading the charge, and the team plans to focus on Lotto Cycling Cup races, including 12 UCI events, as well as the Women Cycling Series calendar across Belgium and the Netherlands.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to sponsorship from Zwift, who will be supporting the team through 2022, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zwift.com\/events\/tag\/l39ion\/view\/1374946?__znl=en-gb\">L39ION of LA team<\/a> will have a women\u2019s squad in 2021.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Name changes in women&#8217;s cycling<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><em>Another year means another set of name changes in the world of professional cycling. As sponsors come and go, the notoriously murky water of cycling team names gets even murkier. Here are the name changes you need to know to make sense of this year\u2019s races.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Despite having been a sponsor of the Australian outfit for the past five years, 2021 sees BikeExchange become naming rights sponsor of the formerly known Mitchelton-SCOTT. Both the women\u2019s and men\u2019s programs will be racing under<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeexchange.com.au\/promo\/team-bikeexchange\"> Team BikeExchange<\/a> this season.<\/p>\n<lite-youtube videoid=aJc--UF6cQs params=\"enablejsapi=1\" style=\"background-image: url('https:\/\/i.ytimg.com\/vi_webp\/aJc--UF6cQs\/maxresdefault.webp');\"><\/lite-youtube>\n<p>The formerly known Team Sunweb is prepped for an exciting season under their new name <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TeamSunweb\/status\/1334822194900307968\">\u201cTeam DSM\u201d<\/a>.\u00a0 Team DSM will be continuing both their men\u2019s and women\u2019s squads, with their women\u2019s team including the likes of junior world champion Megan Jastrab.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to agreeing to an ongoing partnership with Le Col, DROPS Pro Cycling has joined forces with TEMPUR, a mattress and pillow manufacturer. This year the squad will race under the all-inclusive name <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dropscycling.com\/news\/drops-lecol-tempur-2021\">Drops-Le Col supported by Tempur<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to significant sponsorship from a Mexican foreign exchange company, Astana Women\u2019s Team will be changing their name to <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/astanawomen\/status\/1334076805305733120\">A. R. Here are some jumps and new riders to be aware of as the season unfolds.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>New Zealand rider <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wmncycling.com\/mikayla-joins-4-re-sign\/\">Mikayla Harvey<\/a> has signed with powerhouse team Canyon\/\/SRAM for two years.<\/p>\n<p>Dutch rider <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CJJPOasndG4\/\">Esm\u00e9e Peperkamp<\/a> will join <a href=\"https:\/\/mailchi.mp\/keep-challenging\/welcome-esmee-peperkamp\">Team DSM<\/a> in 2021 for her third year of racing. The 23-year-old hasn\u2019t been on the scene long but has already made a name for herself and claimed rising star status on longer climbs and in the time trial discipline.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CJJPOasndG4\/<\/p>\n<p>Winner of the 2020 Zwift Academy finale, Australian rider<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GoZwiftAUSNZ\/status\/1340404644887945218\"> Neve Bradbury<\/a> will join Canyon\/\/SRAM Racing in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Swiss rider <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wmncycling.com\/elise-chabbey-joins-the-team-4-re-signings\/\">Elise Chabbey<\/a> has also signed a two-year deal with Canyon\/\/SRAM.<\/p>\n<p>A. R. Monex Women\u2019s Pro Cycling team has added the Spanish rider <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/eidermerino\/status\/1338861884322156547\">Eider Merino,<\/a> formerly of the World Tour Movistar Team, to their roster.<\/p>\n<p>The 21-year-old Canadian rider Emilie Fortin will join Continental UCI team <a href=\"http:\/\/www.duranguesa.com\/noticias_ver.php?id=246&amp;t=Emilie_Fortin_correra_con_Bizkaia-Durango_en_2021&amp;lang=en\">Bizkaia-Durango<\/a> in 2021.
