The Jumbo-Visma rider won the sprint but quickly lost the victory after being disqualified due to the ‘puppy paws’ aero position. The decision was made while the riders waited for the podium ceremony.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The so-called \u2018puppy paws position\u2019 has been banned by the UCI since April 1 of last year. The \u2018super tuck\u2019 and sitting on the top tube during descents were also banned, all in the interests of rider safety.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I was in that \u2018puppy paws position\u2019, I quickly realised it was not allowed. I immediately switched to the correct position. Apparently, it was enough for the UCI to disqualify me,” said<\/a> Marianne Vos who quickly accepted the disqualification after a brief discussion with a UCI official.<\/p>\n
