De naam: cafe\u00efne. Het is niet dat we een extra argument willen geven om meer chocolade te eten, maar we willen er wel meer van weten. Onze vraag is: hoeveel cafe\u00efne krijg je ermee binnen? En verstoort het je slaap als je kort voor het slapengaan chocolade eet? <\/strong><br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Hoeveel cafe\u00efne zit er in chocolade?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>De cafe\u00efne-inhoud van welk chocoladeproduct dan ook hangt af van de hoeveelheid cacao die gebruikt is om het te maken. Normaal gesproken is het zo dat hoe donkerder de chocolade is, hoe meer cafe\u00efne erin zit. Hier is een lijst van enkele populaire chocoladeproducten en de cafe\u00efne-inhoud:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pure chocolade (70-85 procent vaste cacaobestanddelen) bevat 81 milligram per 100 gram<\/li>\n<li>Pure chocolade om mee te koken (40-50 procent vaste cacaobestanddelen) bevat 42 milligram per 100 gram<\/li>\n<li>Melkchocolade bevat 14 milligram per 100 gram<\/li>\n<li>Chocoladekoekjes bevatten 11 milligram per 100 gram (3 koekjes)<\/li>\n<li>Chocolade-ijs bevat 2 milligram per 100 gram<\/li>\n<li>Cacaopoeder bevat 12 milligram per eetlepel<\/li>\n<li>Chocoladecake bevat 9 milligram per plak<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Niet te vergelijken met koffie<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Een standaard kop koffie bevat ongeveer 150 milligram aan cafe\u00efne. Je moet dus twee hele repen pure chocolade of 1,4 kilogram chocoladekoekjes naar binnen schuiven om dezelfde hoeveelheid cafe\u00efne in te nemen. Ook al is het misschien leuk om het eens te proberen, dit is natuurlijk niet iets wat je normaal gesproken doet. Dus als je genoeg cafe\u00efne binnen wilt krijgen om de prestatie op de fiets wat te verbeteren of je stemming te verbeteren, dan zal chocolade niet het grote verschil gaan maken. Een gemiddelde persoon kan zonder moeite circa 400 milligram aan cafe\u00efne opnemen. Het is dus onwaarschijnlijk dat chocolade je slaap verstoort, althans niet vanwege het cafe\u00efnegehalte.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Misschien is het niet de cafe\u00efne die je uit je slaap houdt<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Naast cafe\u00efne zit er nog een andere krachtige stof in chocolade. Het gaat om theobromine. Nieuw onderzoek toont aan dat deze stof ook effecten op je lichaam heeft. In cacaobonen zit verhoudingsgewijs meer theobromine dan cafe\u00efne. De betere gemoedstoestand en de grotere alertheid na het eten van chocolade kan dus heel goed het resultaat zijn van de inname van theobromine. We reageren allemaal anders op deze substanties. Voor sommigen is het geen enkel punt om een reep chocolade te eten voordat hij naar bed gaat. Hij zal gewoon in slaap vallen. Maar als je hebt gemerkt dat chocolade je juist extra actief maakt en dus uit je slaap houdt, dan is het wellicht verstandig om halverwege de middag de laatste chocolade te eten.
