Are you single and looking to mingle\u2026 on two wheels? Well then, you\u2019re in luck, as \u0160koda are hosting their second ever \u0160PEED DATING cycling event on Saturday 29th June, from 8.30am in Avon R\u00ed, Blessington, Co. Wicklow.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\u0160koda \u0160PEED DATING operates similar to the format of traditional speed dating, were participants have a short time period to speak to a potential partner before a bell rings and they move onto the next prospect. The benefit of this is you get to meet a lot of potential hook ups, in person, in a very short space of time. \u0160koda \u0160PEED DATING is comparable with two lines of cyclists; males on one side and females on the other. This forms a group of cyclists commonly known as a peloton in cycling circles. The peloton is always moving with a cycling marshal sounding a bell or whistle every 3 to 4 minutes, at which point the male cyclist move up to the next female cyclist to deliver his pitch.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event is aimed at likeminded men and women who value their fitness and taking care of their health and well-being. Ideally they need to have some cycling experience although not essential as good fitness will see them through the route. A road or racer type bike is mandatory in order to participate. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking ahead of the event, Ciara Breen, Events and Sponsorship Manager at \u0160koda Ireland, said: \u201cLast year we ran our first ever \u0160PEED Dating event. It was a huge success with numerous couples matched and two couples that we know of still together nearly 12 months later. We had cyclists from all over Ireland who travelled to Wicklow in order to participate. If singletons are sick of the pub and club scene and online dating has drawn a blank they should give \u0160PEED DATING a try to meet fit and likeminded potential partners\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The cost of entry is \u20ac40 and includes a Rider\u2019s Pack containing an individual race number, cycling jersey, a range of \u0160koda cycling merchandise and some entertainment, including a free BBQ for all participants, when the cycling is done and dusted. Please note this is an online registration event only.\u00a0Regretably people showing up looking for love on the day without formal registartion cannot be accomodated.
