Az els\u0151 sz\u00f6k\u00e9st <strong>Nippo-Vini Fantini<\/strong> hajtotta v\u00e9gre, mintegy 7 perces id\u0151k\u00fcl\u00f6nbs\u00e9ggel, azonban az utols\u00f3 75 km-en m\u00e1r siker\u00fclt felz\u00e1rk\u00f3zniuk hozz\u00e1 a t\u00f6bbieknek. V\u00e9g\u00fcl <strong>Carapaz<\/strong> \u00e9rt be els\u0151k\u00e9nt a c\u00e9lba. A szakasz nagy vesztese <strong>Tom Dumoulin<\/strong>, aki buk\u00e1sa miatt feladta a versenyt. A nyolcadik szakasz tartalmazta a leghosszabb t\u00e1vot: 239 km-et kellett megtenni\u00fck a versenyz\u0151knek. A hegyi trik\u00f3ra itt m\u00e9g <strong>Giulio Ciccona<\/strong> volt a leges\u00e9lyesebb, a pontversenyt pedig <strong>Pascal Ackermann<\/strong> vezette.<\/p>\n<p>A 9. szakasz 34, 8 km-es id\u0151futam\u00e1t <strong>Primoz Roglic<\/strong> nyerte, <strong>Victor Campenaerts<\/strong>-al k\u00fczd\u00f6tt meg az els\u0151 hely\u00e9rt. A r\u00f3zsasz\u00edn mez <strong>Valerio Contin\u00e1l, <\/strong>az \u00f6sszetett els\u0151 helyez\u00e9s jelek\u00e9nt.<\/p>\n<p>Az els\u0151 pihen\u0151napot k\u00f6vet\u0151en k\u00e9t s\u00edk szakasz ut\u00e1n j\u00f6ttek a magashegyi etapok. A durva hegyi szakaszon megkezd\u0151dtek a sz\u00f6k\u00e9si k\u00eds\u00e9rletek, egy nyolcf\u0151s csapat \u00f6ssze\u00e1llt, k\u00f6zt\u00fck a hegyi pontversenyt vezet\u0151 <strong>Giulio Ciccon\u00e9val<\/strong> (Trek-Segafredo). A Vuelta\u00a0a Espana-gy\u0151ztes <strong>Simon Yates<\/strong> is t\u00e1mad\u00e1sba lend\u00fclt az els\u0151 emelked\u0151n, azonban hamar beleolvadt a f\u0151mez\u0151nybe. Helyette az 1173 m\u00e9ter magas Aprica ker\u00fclt be a 194 kilom\u00e9teres szakaszba. Ez a m\u00f3dos\u00edt\u00e1s \u00faj, nem hivatalos c\u00edmet hozott a 13. szakasz gy\u0151ztes\u00e9nek, <strong>Ilnur Zakarinnak<\/strong>, ugyanis a cs\u00facs t\u00f6rl\u00e9s\u00e9vel az ezen a szakaszon l\u00e9v\u0151 2247 m\u00e9teres cs\u00facs lenne a Cima Coppi, vagyis a verseny legmagasabb pontja. Azonban a hivatalos pont a 20. szakaszon l\u00e9v\u0151, 2047 m\u00e9ter magas Passo Manghen lett, mint a h\u00e1tral\u00e9v\u0151 \u00fatvonal legmagasabb hegye. A megv\u00e1ltoztatott \u00fatszakaszon a h\u00f3 helyett az es\u0151 vette \u00e1t az id\u0151j\u00e1r\u00e1s nehez\u00edt\u0151 szerep\u00e9t. A Mortirol\u00f3n egy n\u00e9gy f\u0151s csapat v\u00e1lt ki a csapatb\u00f3l: \u00a0a k\u00e9k trik\u00f3s <strong>Giulio Ciccone<\/strong> (Trek-Segafredo), <strong>Mikel Nieve<\/strong> (Mitchelton- SCOTT), <strong>Jan Hirt<\/strong> (Astana) \u00e9s <strong>Damiano Caruso<\/strong> (Bahrain-Merida).
